What to submit: 

A very short story – 120-180 words in length. The winning story will be inked into a single page, six-panel manga comic, so every character counts!

Here is belne’s sample story (simple and clever!)

Kei, a high school student, is becoming sleepy while she does her homework in her bedroom.

She holds her pen over the report. She is fighting a losing battle with her tired eyelids.

Behind her, the housecat meows affectionately. He checks to see if Kei is sleeping.

Standing up on his hind legs, the cat turns towards the open computer and begins to type madly.

His face a mask of concentration, words begin to appear onscreen:

• Galactic space headquarters

• Third planet from the sun

• Immediate extermination

• Reply from Galactic command 

• Continue observation.

“Meow!!” Surprised, the cat is caught by Kei – who was meant to be asleep.

“Oh, you’re so cute!” Kei laughs. “It’s like you’re using the computer.” She takes a photo with her phone.
